LEVITICUS – It’s necessary a lot of sacrifice!

In the book of Leviticus God said to Moses to tell the people of Israel that he wanted to have a personal relationship with them, but it was necessary a lot of “sacrifice”.
There were thousands of former slaves from Egypt, rebels and rude people who Moses was leading to the land of Canaan, but God wanted to relate to them.
God himself established the means: in order to pay for the sins they had to die! But, for mercy, God would accept the death of a substitute.
Lv 1.1 – “From the tent of meeting the Lord called Moses and told him to speak to the Israelites: When any of you brings an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from either the herb or the flock”.
The initiative was from God. What great love!
Also Aaron and his sons were called by God for the service of priests, those ones who would make the sacrifice of animals at the Tabernacle. Only the priests could do this job.
So, Moses was called by God as a prophet and Aaron and his sons as priests. Then, God called assistants to the priests, the Levites. They were the ones who cleaned the blood after thousands of sacrifices; they were carrying the columns and curtains of the tabernacle where the camp changed its place. The Levites were in charge of all the service related to the Tabernacle, they were not musicians.
Today we might say that all persons called by God to a service / ministry at the church is a Levite. There is no distinction in Christian service, so there can be no celebrities, for we are all equally important: musicians, pastor, teacher, receptionist, porter etc. All of us are extremely important in performing with excellence the service that God has entrusted to us, as did Moses, Aaron and the Levites.
But, Christians are also prophets and priests. We are prophets when we proclaim the Word of God to others; we are priests when we pray and intercede for ourselves and for others before God.
Just because of Jesus.
After all, Jesus is the greatest prophet of God; He is the very word of God, He is also the perfect high priest who entered Heaven and is seated at the Tabernacle in Heaven, interceding for us all the time before the Father
Jesus is also the perfect sacrifice, the only sacrifice that God accepts today. Only the death of Jesus can pay for the sins of a sinner for he may have a personal relationship with God.

LEVITICO – é preciso muito sacrifício

Levítico conta que Deus mandou Moisés dizer às pessoas de Israel que Ele queria ter relacionamento pessoal com elas, mas para isso era preciso muito sacrifício!
Eram milhares de ex-escravos do Egito, rebeldes e brutos que Moisés estava conduzindo à terra de Canaã, mas Deus mandou dizer que queria se relacionar com eles.
E Deus estabeleceu o meio: para pagar os pecados era necessário morrer! Mas, por misericórdia, Deus aceitaria a morte de um substituto.
1.1 – Da tenda do encontro o SENHOR chamou Moisés e lhe ordenou: diga aos israelitas: quando alguém trouxer um animal como oferta ao Senhor, que seja do gado ou do rebanho de ovelhas.
A iniciativa foi de Deus. Que grande amor!
Então, Arão e seus filhos foram chamados também por Deus para exercerem a função de sacerdotes, aqueles que fariam o sacrifício dos animais no Tabernáculo. Somente os sacerdotes poderiam fazer esse serviço.
Assim, Moisés foi chamado por Deus como profeta e Arão e seus filhos como sacerdotes. Mas, Deus chamou também ajudantes para os sacerdotes: os levitas. Eram eles que limpavam o sangue depois dos milhares de sacrifícios; eram eles que carregavam as colunas e cortinas do tabernáculo sempre que o acampamento mudava de lugar. Os levitas eram encarregados de todo o serviço relacionado ao Tabernáculo; eles não eram músicos.
Hoje poderíamos dizer que todas as pessoas chamadas por Deus para um serviço/ministério na igreja é um levita. Não há distinção no serviço cristão, por isso não pode haver celebridades, já que todos somos igualmente importantes: os músicos, o pastor, o intercessor, o professor, o recepcionista, o cozinheiro, o porteiro etc. Todos nós somos extremamente importantes exercendo com excelência o serviço que Deus nos confiou, como fizeram Moisés, Arão e os Levitas.
Hoje, nós cristãos também somos profetas e sacerdotes. Somos profetas quando proclamamos a Palavra de Deus aos outros; somos sacerdotes quando oramos e intercedemos por nós e pelos outros diante de Deus. Tudo isso por causa de Jesus.
Afinal, Jesus é o maior profeta de Deus, Ele é a própria Palavra de Deus; Ele é também o sumo sacerdote perfeito que entrou no Céu e está assentado no Tabernáculo Celestial, intercedendo por nós o tempo todo diante do Pai.
Jesus é também o sacrifício perfeito, o único sacrifício que Deus aceita hoje. Somente a morte de Jesus pode pagar os pecados de um pecador para que ele possa ter relacionamento pessoal com Deus.
